TAKE LESSONS

I teach private lessons for all ages in classical piano, jazz piano, electronic music, composition, and theory. Students with any experience level are welcome!

I'm available to come to you, but I also teach out of my home studio in southeast Austin if you prefer. My rate is $90/hour; 30 minute, 45 minute, and hour lessons are all available.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and watching my students discover things about music for the first time. I strive to tailor my teaching style to each individual student, and take a student-led explorative approach whenever possible. I love to find the music that excites the student the most and use that as a vehicle to teach them. He takes a hands-on approach to theory, combining visual, aural, and kinesthetic modes of learning to master building blocks of music like intervals and chords. He also incorporates improvisation to help students learn how to bring out their inner musicality.

 

I expect all my regular students to put their full effort into practice and lessons, but I believe learning music should be fun, rewarding, and exciting! Above all I want my studio to be a supportive, welcoming, and chill environment.
